Come join JCB at our first learning luncheon on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Sugo Kitchen from 11:30am – 2:30pm. We are very excited about this new event as it is another way we can fulfill our mission of bringing blooms and public art to our city.
Sustainable Gardening – What is it and why should we do it?
Learn how to be kind to the environment by having a garden that requires less watering and uses native plants. Learn about ways to recycle in the garden and maintain a healthy natural habitat that promotes plant growth and reduces unwanted insects and disease. Experts Ashley Frasca and Mark Hoban will provide a wealth of information on sustainable gardening, and Mark will share pictures of the transformation he’s achieved while applying these ideas to a golf course. Trent Ellis, owner of Armor Wildlife Management, will answer questions about managing the deer that are ever present in many of our gardens and yards. Come learn more from them.
The luncheon event will feature a raffle of some delightful items that will be great for your garden and home. Each person will receive 5 free raffle tickets and a hostess gift. Additional raffle tickets will be available. Your donation to attend the luncheon and any additional contributions for raffle tickets will support Johns Creek Beautification’s fundraising for a major, commissioned public artwork/sculpture honoring the Native American history and heritage of our land and community.
